Ivory is light but warmer than white. It exudes timeless elegance in a plain carpet; as a background shade of a patterned carpet, it provides a calm base. The difference with beige or cream is that ivory has a less yellow undertone. Neutral colours that complement ivory well are beige and brown. If you want it a bit more expressive, add a brighter colour.
